Gwen began playing snare drum with Branch 137 Royal Canadian Legion Pipe Band at age 11 in her hometown of Campbell River.
| Since then Gwen has played with a number of bands including the Canadian Cadet Pipes and Drums which played at both the 1989 Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the World Pipe Band Championships; Triumph Street Pipe Band (Grade 1); the Maple Ridge/New Westminster Police Pipe Band (Grade 2) which played numerous times at the “World’s” in Scotland and the North American championships;
Portland Metro Pipe Band (Grade 3); and since 2007, with the RCMP E. Division Pipe Band. | The
highlight of Gwen’s drumming career was playing at the 1989 Royal Military Tattoo in Edinburgh and the many great friends, music and band trips over the years. Gwen has been the Drum Corporal of the Side Section the last several years, lending her experience to the drum corp and the band as a whole. | ||
